Politically Speaking Begins 23rd Season

Politically Speaking is WNIT’s longest running locally produced program, originally airing in 1988. This season, which begins September 12, Producer Brenda Bowyer promises an exciting special addition, as WNIT partners with the American Democracy project at Indiana University South Bend to host a prime time debate on October 27 for the Indiana Third Congressional District.

In its regular time slot of Sundays at 2pm, Host Jim Wensits brings legislators and viewers together and interviews important regional- and state-elected officials and spotlights the actions of the Indiana General Assembly. Wensits served for more than 41 years covering local government and politics at the South Bend Tribune. A graduate of Purdue University, he also was a member of the Tribune’s Editorial Board, with the position of Associate Editor, from 1992 to 2003.
